Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 13 HP Tecumseh model OHV130206820 C, coil wire, riding mower

Question
I have a Husky riding mower with all the wiring fried. I want to do away with the wiring and just jump start the motor from a car battery. there are 3 wires coming from the engine: blue and red from under the flywheel and a green from the coil. I cut the red and blue wires and taped them off. I grounded the green wire to the frame. here's my problem; Iam not getting any fire to my plug when i try to crank the engine. Got any ideas?

Answer
Hello Terry:

The Wire from the Coil is Grounded ONLY to Stop the Coil from Firing the Plug and Shut Off the Engine. Disconnect the Coil Wire from Ground and Connect it to a Switch that is Grounded when you want to Cut Off the Engine. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.
