Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman Riding Lawn Tractor, voltage tester, 12volts

Question
I have model # 917.270711 by Craftsman.  Replaced fuel filter, spark plugs and battery and it still needs to be jumped before every use.  Any ideas?

What this sounds like is your battery charging Regulator is bad or may be unplugged.You will find it on or near the engine it will have 4 wires plugged into a harness  If you need parts I can help. Put a voltage tester on the battery after you charge it up. Get the voltage reading 12-13 volts. Then start the mower and put  the tester on the mower again and see what threading is if it is the 12volts it isn't charging, if it is more check all the connections on the battery.
