Tips on Buying Cars: Buying A Used Veh, average life span, volvo s40

2002 Volvo I'm thinking about buying a 2002 Volvo S40 1.9 Turbo with 63K for $5300. Do you think it's worth it? I'm not familiar at all with a turbo engine. What kind of maintenance/future repairs are in store? Thanks in advance for your advice!

The Volvo has got an average life span about 18 years, I come across many with with over 200K, the picture sure looks nice on the surface, but it's history and how it's been taken care of underneath that counts.
