Answer
Hello Ronald:

Check The Belt. A Worn Belt will Cause the Problem you Described. Purchase a Can of Belt Dressing from the Automotive Parts Retailer. Spray the Belt and If the Problem is Corrected, then Replace the Belt. The Only Other Possible Cause is a Bad Tension Spring (part #732-3044) for the Flat Idler Pulley. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, http://www.emerichsales.com/home.asp and Select Shop Online Parts Catalog. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM (Cub Cadet). Then Enter the Model Numbers. Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Now Select the Drive Folder. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
