Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): No Spark - B & S 80202, rotary corp, briggs stratton

Hello John!
I have a Briggs & Stratton..model# 80202 that came off a snow blower..it wasnt running to begin with. I took the WHOLE engine apart, rebuilt it, and it was running GREAT. I started to reassemble the engine back to the snow blower but was having difficulty figuring out the throttle cable & all the springs..as soon as i got the throttle etc working properly, I tried to fire it up but got nothing! I checked for a spark and now there is no spark! Replaced the spark plug, checked again, still no spark. I disconnected the lead to the kill switch, and still no spark! Any ideas?!

Hello Justin:

Replace the Point Set. Either Replace them with a New Point Set (B&S Kit #299061) or Do Away with the Point Set and Use a Nova Igintion Module (Rotary Corp #8786). The Cost is Not that Great to Replace the Point Set with the Nova Module and you Usually have Less Ignition Problems with the Nova. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance.
