Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 21 HP Kaw, stop screw, excessive wear

Question
My 21 hp kawasaki (1998)is mounted on a 61 inch skag turf tiger mower, the governor hunts bad when at idle,I can get it to stop hunting by adjusting the governor stop screw, (I think thats what it is) but then my idle speed goes up. I can't seem to get it to quit hunting or idle, Thanks, Ross

Answer
Hello Ross:

From your Description, it Sounds like the Idle Jet is Restricted causing the Engine to Hunt. Remove, Disassemble and Soak the Carburetor Overnight in Carburetor Cleaner. Then Blow Out the Passages with Compressed Air. Install New Kit if Required. You will Recognize Excessive Wear if there is Any. You May be Able to Locate a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine and Carburetor at this Site Addy, http://www.yamaha-motor.com/outdoor/parts/home.aspx Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
