Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 50 TRACTOR LAWN MOWER, automotive part, model numbers

Question
I KEEP HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE ENGINE TO DECK DRIVE BELT, IT WILL ROLL OR TWIST ON THE MOTOR PULLEY. THE UNIT IS ABOUT THREE YEARS OLD. I HAVE REPLACED FOUR OR FIVE BELTS AT $40.00 EACH AT SEARS. SOMETIMES IT JUST EATS THEM UP OR THE BELTS TWIST AND AFTER THAT THEY WILL NOT STAY ON OR WILL BREAK. I HAVE CHECKED ALL PULLEYS FOR ALIGNMENT AND ALL LOOKS GOOD SHOULD I TRY MAYBE A DIFFERENT TYPE BELT MAYBE? ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE OF HELP.
THANKS CLINT

Answer
 Hello Clint:

Usually the Cause for this is a Bad Tension Idler or a Bad Engine Pulley. Check your Local Automotive Part Supplier for an Industrial Belt of the Same Length and Width. Usually they are Cheaper in Cost, but the Same Quality. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower, Please. With these I can Locate a Breakdown/IPL and Better Assist you. Thanks.

 Respectfully

 John
