Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman LT2000; No power whatsoever, craftsman lt2000, inline fuse

I have a Craftsman LT2000 42" Riding Mower (model # 917.273130) with a Kohler Pro 17HP OHV Engine (model # CV490S).  I could start it last year by jumping it off.  This year I went to try and jump and nothing so I bought a new battery and ensured it was charged and connected it and again nothing.  No power whatsoever.  I cleaned out the starter switch, connections, spark plug, etc., and nothing.  I'm not an expert so what would be my next step?  Appreciate any assistance and guidance.  Thanks.

Most likely you have a safety switch problem.  Starting at the key switch, follow each wire to the safety switches.  Dis-connect and re-connect each connection.  Sometimes this will fix the problem.
Also, as you are following the wires, check the inline fuse.
