Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Governor issue B&S, repair manual, rsvp

Okay Tim it is the governor. Now what I like to understand is how to install a new one. In otherwords how difficult is it to do. I am very mechanical and would feel comfortable doing almost anything but a governor I've never even seen except in pictures and I am slightly intimidated by it. Any help you could render would be greatly appreciated.

If you are good with mechanical things it's not that hard to replace the governor gear.  Other than suggesting that you get the correct repair manual that would spell it out for you step by step the only other thing i can suggest is to go to this site http://shop.briggsandstratton.com/BShopRepairPartsPage.asp?rsvp=0&MECID=100&CATA...
 You will be able to put in your model and type number and it will give you an exploded view of your engine.  Hope this was of help to you.
