Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman Leaf Blower, craftsman leaf blower, spark arrestor

Question
I have a 3 year old leaf blower.  The 1st year it worked great but I forgot to put it away that winter and it sat out under a tarp under my deck until spring.  After that it had many problems -- the pull would stick out(I rewound the spring - no it's fine) and it was hard to start.  Once started it would only stay running after it warmed up.  It got progressivly worse over the past 2 years.  Now it starts fairly easy(after trying the things listed below) on 1/2 choke but almost immediately the engine races and then cuts out unless you push the primer every few seconds.  With no choke it will not even start.  I have shot carb cleaner into tank and carb.  I have removed the fuel filter from the tube in the tank and I have removed the carb and blew it out with a compressor --- still no luck.  I have replaced the spark plug and it is sparking just fine and the compression feels good but I do not have a testor.  I do not have the model number handy but can get them if needed.  Please help -- this was a good leaf blower -- I bought a new one from Toro but I don't like it - I want my Craftsman back.

Thanks
Brad

Answer
 Hello Brad:

Remove the Muffler and Check the Exhaust Port for Blockage. Check the Muffler and the Spark Arrestor Screen(inside the Muffler) for Blockage also. If these are Clear, then Remove and Disassemble the Carburetor. Soak it Overnight in Carburetor Cleaning Solution(I use Gunk) and Then Blow Out the Passages with Compressed Air. Install New Kit. Hope this Helps. Send the Model Numbers, Please, if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully
