Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): new gas filter, sectional index, pin holes

Question
I installed  new gas filter on my John Deere Lx255 and now the gas is not pushing back through the line. What am I doing wrong? Was the gas line under pressure before I removed the old filter?

Answer
 Hello Robert:

Sorry for the Delay. There is Normally No Pressure on the Tank. However, Sometimes you have to Use Compressed Air to Prime the Fuel Pump and Start it Pulling the Gas from the Tank. Remove the Fuel Line at the Inlet of the Pump. Slightly Charge the Tank with Air and When it Starts Running Out of the Line; Attach the Line Back to the Pump. Then Turn the Engine while Applying Pressure to the Tank. This will Assist the Pump in Priming. Some of these Mowers are Having Problems with Pin Holes in the Pickup Tube in the Tank. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Addy http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H... and Enter the Model Numbers LX255. Then Select the Model in the Search Results Area. Then Select the Sectional Index. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more  Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
