Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Noma snowblower auger will not engage, tecumseh engine, differen

Question
Hi John,

Thanks for the reply. I hope you're feeling better. If you'd rather contact me directly, my email is prnewman@mn.rr.com. I look forward to your reply if you can find a shop manual or give some quick advice on adjusting or changing that belt before the first big snow!

Take care.

Paul

Hi John,

Thanks again for your reply. I removed the cover, according to the diagram, and exposed the two belts. The auger drive belt is not broken, but is very loose even with the tensioner engaged. Is there an online manual with a description of how to either adjust the tension or replace the belt? Neither seems clearly obvious from just looking.

thanks again!

-----Question-----
Hi John,

I'm sorry, but I couldn't find any date stamp on the snowblower. The tag says Murray, and the serial number is S006392336476, and the code is 5262.

I'm not sure if you can tell manufactured date from the serial number, but let me know if the date can be found any place special.

thanks

Paul

-----Question-----
Hi,
I have a Noma snowblower with an 8 hp Tecumseh engine. I have had trouble in the past with the auger not engaging. Is there an easy to determine the cause of this? Is the auger belt driven? Thanks!

 Hello Paul:

Send me the Model Numbers Off the Blower, Please. With these I can Locate a Breakdown/IPL and Better Assist you. You will be Able to View the Breakdown/IPL Online and I can Use the Breakdown/IPL for a Reference. There are Several Different Drives for the Snow Blowers and I would Like to See the Equipment before I Assist in this Problem. Thanks.

 Hello Paul:

Can you Locate the Date of Production Numbers or do you know the Year this Blower was Built. I had Forgotten that Noma (Murray) went Out of Business and Briggs has Purchased Most of the Product Materials. Thanks.

 Hello Paul:

I Spoke with Briggs about a Breakdown/IPL and their Murray Service Technician Gave me this Information. Go to this Addy http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Click on the Parts Look Up Box. Then Select the OEM(Murray). Then Enter the Model Numbers 624808X4NA and Click Search. Then Double Click the Model in the Search Results Area. This will Open a New Window for you to View the Snow Blower in Breakdown/IPL Form. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Hello Paul:

Sorry for the Delay. I got a Flu Shot on Thursday and have been in Bed Friday and Saturday. I feel Better Now. I am Just Starting to get Questions for Snow Blowers and Throwers and Haven't Located a Service/Shop Manual yet. Follow up with me in a Couple of Days, Please. I will Research this for you and Hopefully Locate a Manual for you to View Online. Thanks.
