UK Car Repair: Vauxhall Zafira 1.6 petrol, vauxhall zafira, coolant level

Hi, my car was chugging a bit. When iam stationary the engine is revving to 1000rpm by itself and dropping to 0. some days its ok. What do you think it is? Can i drive it without it braking down?"

couldn't say.

I would check the coolant level and topup.
Make sure the actual radiator is brimmed with no air in the top.

Check airbox, airfilter and all pipes and hoses under the hood are secure and nothings fallen off.


you can give it a good flog down the motorway,  20 miles at 85MPH should work wonders if the car has been doing lots of little 5-10 mile town journeys ;) -
