 Hello Colin:

Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower, Please. They should be Similar to 40036X8D. With these, I can Locate a Breakdown/IPL and Better Assist you. It Sounds like the Shear Pin/key for the Gear Box has Sheared. When the Pulley is Turning, is the Input Shaft Turning too? Hope this Helps. Thanks.

 Good Luck

Thanks John,
I have tried to locate the model number, but can only find Murry 125/102 it has a six speed control and is fitted with the Brigs & Stratton engine,The input shaft is turning and I am getting a slight turning force on the drive shaft to the road wheels it feels like  it is the oil moving the shaft?
My next move is to open the gear box? is this a good idea?
Regards Colin

 Hello Colin:

Does it Say Hydromatic or Hydrostatic Drive Anywhere? The Make and Model for the Transaxle is Located on a Plate on the Transaxle. I need All the Numbers Off this Plate. The Model Numbers for the Mower Are Usually Under the Seat. You can go to this Addy http://murray.com/ and Under the Servuce and Support Tab Select the FAQ. The Select the Link to the FAQ at the Briggs Site. Then Select the Question # 10. This will Give the Location of the Model Numbers on the Mower. From you Description you are Going to have to Remove the Transaxle and Open the Case. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

Answer
 Hello Again Colin:

I did Locate a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower. It Does Not Contain the OEM of the Transaxle, nor a Breakdown/IPL of the Transaxle. I am going to Use the Picture in the Diagram and try to Match the Transaxle to Pictures in my Manuals and see if I can Locate a Close Match. This is all I can Do Without the OEM and Model Numbers Off the OEM Plate of the Transaxle. You can View the Breakdown/IPL at this Addy http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Click Parts Lookup. The Select the OEM(Murray) and Enter the Model Numbers and Click Search. Then Double Click on the Model in the Search Results Area. A New Window will Open and you can View a Complete Breakdown/IPL of the Mower. Select the Section you wish to View and Click. The Transaxle is in the Motion Drive Section. Hope this Helps. I will do a Follow up as soon as I Locate a Breakdown/IPL of the Transaxle in the Manuals. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.
