Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): over rev of engine, throttle plate, broadmore

Question
John, I was mowing my lawn (simplicity 14 HP broadmore) when it suddenly started to run fast. it was really overreving. I had to keep turning off the key to get it back up to the house. the throttle would not work. the gov is working and no springs are missing. can you give me an idea what is going on. thank you Terry Battle

Answer
 Hello Terry:

If the Linkage from the Governor Arm to the Carburetor is Still Attached to the Carburetor Control Shaft, then the Screws that Hold the Throttle Plate Inside the Carburetor May have come Out and the Throttle Plate is Stuck at Full Open. Send me the Make, Model, Type and Code Numbers Off of the Engine, Please. With these Numbers I can Locate a Breakdown of the Engine and Better Assist you. I can Also use the Breakdown/IPL for Reference and you can View it Online Also. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
