Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Bolens 1055 Sticks in gear on occasion, sound shape, gear lube

Question
I am getting ready to purchase a riding mower that has a small problem. Every now and again it will get stuck in gear. It is a Bolens G-10.The person it is coming from says that to correct it ,all you need to do is just reach in and pull the gear out, which is two little cylinders that the shifting rod fits into, then slide the cylinders up or down to change gears. He said he thought it my need greased. Not positive but I believe this is around a 1973 model. Any advice will be a great help. Thanks.

Answer
 Hello Mike:

If the Mower is is Sound Shape and the the Engine is in Good Condition, The Problem you are asking about is a Small One. The Fix is Most likely Grease or Gear Lube to Prevent the Shifter from Sticking. Send me the OEM and Model Numbers Off of the Transaxle ID Tag and I can Locate a Breakdown and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps.

 Respectfully
