Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): no spark craftsman riding lawnmower, craftsman riding lawnmower, safety switches

Question
Its a 16.5 Kohler engine.. what is the gap for the ignition module? the safety switch for the seat was bypassed. Would this have anything to do with it. Never happened before tho. how many safety switches are there? Its a model 917.27.1090.

 Hello Tom:

 The Ignition Module is set at .020. There is a Blade Safety and a Clutch Safety. The Blade safety will not allow the Engine to Spark. The Clutch safety will not let the Engine Turn. The Ignition Switch will go bad also. There is a Series of Diagnostic steps we can take once the Safety Switches are eliminated from the possible causes.  Hope this Helps.
