Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): weedeater wont start?, stroke oils, stroke oil

Question
Hi, I own a XT200 gas weedeater, recently I left mt trimmer at my inlaws and they tried to use it but put pure gas in it, so I drained all that out and put in new gas and oil mix and it still won't start? also what is the exact mixture between the gas and oil mixed together?, and what is the gap for the spark plug or do they sell it already gapped?
Thanks for your time and help
Derek

Answer
Hi Derek,

First of all did they use it?  Without oil mixed with the fuel?  If so, serious engine damage may have occurred, as the only lubrication the engine receives, is from the oil in the fuel.  Let me know.
The fuel to oil ratio is 40 to 1 or gallon of fuel to 3.2 ozs. of oil.  Most 2 stroke oils come in premeasured containers for use with a set amount of fuel.  Only 2 stroke oil is recommended.  Not motor oil.  The correct spark plug should be gapped from the factory.
