Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Carburetor problem, briggs stratton engine, gilson tiller

Question
I have a Gilson tiller with a 5 hp Briggs & Stratton engine. The engine will not run without the choke pulled completely out. Do you have any suggestions?

If it will only run on choke, the carb is dirty.  Thoroughly clean the carb by pushing a piece of tag wire through all of the internal passages and follow up with carb cleaner.  Then get rid of any old fuel and start with fresh stuff.  Hope this helps.
