how to preform vale job ? degree of diffuculty? special tools? engine is on a old snapperlawn tractor . I have already changed the plugs air &fuel filters removed cyl heads cleaned out carbon build up cleaned seats and piston top changed oil three times was getting dirty very fast seem better now also rebuilt the fuel pump and changed needle valve. it runs mutch better now but still an ocasional pop fro exhaust. also added marvel to gas and oil. puy a lead substitute in 93 octane gas. any sugestin

not sure how to reply? but carb only has idle screw high speed screw replaced by fixed jet . cleaned jet very small orfice should I try a wire through it? source for small engine tools ie. tach, valva

Definitely push a piece of tag wire through all of the passages inside the carb.  Any good tool supplier can get the necessary tools (Princess Auto is one here in Canada).  Check with a Briggs dealer to see if there was a service bulletin to replace the high speed jet.  I seem to recall something about that but I've been out the industry for several years.  If you are considering a valve job, i recommend you locate a service manual as it is too involved for me to describe in this forum and without diagrams.  Hope this helps.
