Snowmobile Repair: studded track, sled, studs

hey man,
just wondering if removing studs will harm my track.  i have a 2001 mxzx 440 with 96 studs, and i want to remove them.  will this harm my sled's track? i have heard varying opinions! lol

Hello Drew,

  It won't hurt any to remove the studs, especially of it's a pre drilled track. If you drilled the track after buying it, you may get a little fraying, but nothing to worry about. Tracks always last longer from the start, if they are not studded. Just be sure to use WD40 to get them off, if they are rusted. Hope this helps, good luck!
