What is the amount of complete turns counter clockwise from their seated position.  Artic Cat Panther 2001 550. Twin VM 38 carburators.

 It sounds like you're trying to adjust your sled's carburetors. Although it's a good idea to start at 1-1/4 turns counter-clockwise with the air adjustment screw on all mikuni VM carburetors, It's important to turn the screw in and out listening to the engines response, to achieve the best performance.Generally, the adjusting screw can be considered set correctly when you turn the screw counter-clockwise and the engine speeds-up, keep turning it just until the engine stops speeding-up, if you end-up fouling spark plugs at this setting, turn the screw back, clockwise a bit. Just be sure to syncronize the carbs, either by using a sync gauge or just counting the number of turns exactly for both screws. Good Luck with the sled! Mr.W
