Steering Column Repair: no horn after assembly, chevy suburban, video index

Question
I have a 91 Chevy Suburban 1500 5.7l tilt steering. I tightened up the four bolts that are common to come loose on the column and during assembly a piece fell to the floor it is a slightly bent piece of metal and both ends are hooked as if its ment to stay in place its not a big piece I couldn't find where it went so I continued with assembly had to replace the turn signal cam cause it broke upon demolition of column it looks identical to the old one so got it all together and now have no horn please help if you can

Answer
Hi Justin:

Congrats on rebuilding your column.  No small feat.  It's hard for me to know what went wrong in assembling your horn.  As far as the extra piece, if you can post or send me a picture, I can probably tell you where it goes and what it is.  I can also offer you a detailed video of how to rebuild the column in case you wanted to review what you did.  Maybe that will tell you what went wrong with the horn.
