Steering Column Repair: Steering column short, 1998 ford windstar, ford windstar

I have 1998 Ford Windstar tilt steering wheel. What does the inside wiring look like if it is all together right? MY horn, turn signals and bright lights do not work and we hear a crackle noise sometimes could this be a short?

Ford Ignition switch Hi Heather:
Sorry about your problem.  typically, the only part that causes all of that to go bad would be the ignition switch itself.  It's a very easy repair.  remove the lower dash cover under the steering column and you can see the ignition switch mounted to the side of the column.  remove the 2 bolts and replace the switch.
I would try that first.  If that isn't the problem, then you will need to trace out each circuit and connector individually (big job).
