Steering Column Repair: ignition/steering column, astro van, screw driver

The ignition broke on my 87 astro van,my brother then ripped the ingition out to start with screw driver,yet it only turnsover half way.The column was very loose to begin with.(Missing pins in column)I know i need a new ignition and column.but how can i get it started?

Hi Mike:
Without knowing what style column you have (tilt or non-tilt) and how much damage was caused, or what was taken out, I can't tell you what to do.  We do however have some instructional videos for you.
We have recently uploaded some videos on our company website to give you first hand viewing of how to remove, disassemble, and reassemble the loose tilt column you are talking about. They are broken down into step by step 2-3 minute detailed videos with instructions. Although the videos are for a Chevrolet truck, the column is very similar to yours.
