Subaru Repair: 97 outback impreza wagon, fuse box, dash lights

Question
My Subaru is about 150,000 miles.  All of a sudden the speedometer has stopped working.  I've lost my manual so i don't know if i just need to get a new fuse or if its something else.  Under dash in the fuse box in the second row there is a missing fuse.  This car has not had working dash lights for several years.  Could this be the problem for the speedometer also?  thanks for any and all help you can give me.

Answer
Hey Belinda,

If the speedo has quit working and the check engine light is not on than most likely the speedo it self is at fault.  If the check engine light is on than it may need a speed sensor.  You should of course check all fuses and connections but that is probably the most you will be able to do with out a  diagnostic scan tool like the Subaru select monitor.
