Subaru Repair: 2005 Subaru Impreza Engine shakes, subaru impreza rs, subaru impreza

Question
Dear Sir:
I recently purchased an Automatic 2005 Subaru Impreza RS 2.5L Wagon.  It has 27,000 Kms on it.  The car is fine but this is my first time owning a Subaru with Boxer Engine so is it normal that the engine shakes abit?  I noticed that it shakes more when the car first started up in the morning and as the engine got warmed up, it shakes alot less ie purring.  I feel this on my driver seat and my wife could feel the same purring shake on her passenger seat.  Is this normal for a Boxer Engine with cylinders going horizontally or am I purchasing a lemon?

I searched the Internet and found quite a few querries regarding Subaru Engine shaking but an answer from the expert would be much appreciated.

Thank you kindly for your answer.

Norman

Answer
It is normal for the car to shake a little when first started. This is due the to low emmisions the vehicle produces. It is heating up the catalytic converters as quickly as possible. I hope you enjoy your Impreza. I myself own the 2006 2.5i Impreza and love it.
