Subaru Repair: 96 sub L 2.2, chevron techron, fuel injector cleaner

My 96 start up 90 percent of time no problem. The other 10 percent it won't start unless I push the Gas pedal clean to the floor then crank it and it starts and a little black smoke comes out and it is good to go. Have changed plugs, wires and gas filter.

It sounds like you may have an intermittent case of a leaky fuel injector. I recommend running a cleaner through the tank such as Slick 50 fuel treatment or the Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner. Remember to add that on a close to empty tank before you fill the tank.
