Subaru Repair: 97 Subaru WRX, engine harness, careful inspection

Question
Hi,
I changed the gear box in my 97 WRX. All went back together ok, started and drove ok. However, the engine light came on and the engine would not rev over about 4500 rpm, almost sounded like it had been restricted. I drove the car home and left it overnight. The next morning the engine turned over but would not start. I have spark to all cylinders so I'm assuming it is a sensor of some type that has either broken or not been reconnected. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Answer
Hello Chris,

There are a few possibilities and im trying to think what may have been disturbed while removing the transmission and really what comes to mind is that maybe one of the pins came out of the main engine harness. So i would start with careful inspection of both sides of the harness conectors.I hope that helps
