Subaru Repair: WRX Differential problems, differential problems, rear differential

Question
I have a 2002 WRX with 100,000 miles. I replaced a rear flat with the temp. spare and proceeeded within the speed limitations. Within 40 minutes my rear differential blew, leaked oil started on fire. Luckily i was able to put out before any fire damage. I feel this problem is directly related to use of the spare. Do I have a case against the manufacturer for compensation on the bill? The repair was expensive $3300

Answer
You would have to prove that you didn't exceed speed, distance, and that the spare tire was inflated properly. The space saver spare is meant to limp you off the road only, i don't suggest driving 40 miles on a space saver spare tire.
