Subaru Repair: AWD System, many cars, highway speeds

I just bought a 02 WRX and when I am driving at highway speeds in any not so perfect conditions. it feels like wind is blowing me all over the road when there is no wind. I then have to drive slower when many cars are passing me and seemingly not having problems with the road conditions. Would this be the AWD transfering power from wheel to wheel or  is there likely something wrong with the AWD system? I was driving a 92 talon AWD and it never felt like that. The WRX works great in perfect conditions.

I would start with checking tire pressure and condition,next have an alignment check performed.Lastly since you are not the original owner there may be something that has happened to the car in the past that you aren't aware of that can contribute to your symptoms.There really isn't anything typical to the AWD system.Hope that helps
