Suzuki Repair: suzuki fuel problem, suzuki service manual, jx 1

Question
1992 suz. sidekick JX 1.6l eng...cant get car to run only if I use starting fluid...tried another fuel injector, pressure relief sensor...when you turn key and wait, 1 relay under dash starts clattering and will get hot.I think relay might control fuel pump,2 0f them and each have 4 connectors on it. I switched and still clatters .i can spray ether and evenually get to run and runs great ,but turn of and wait, wont start again. do you think fuel pump cant get it to run but using the ether gets it to prime up for start. i have checked hoses for leaking and found none. just want to feel more confindant before i spend a day and $$$before changing fuel pump...hope you have some ideas..thanks/Allen Luberger  PS... also when its running and not in gear, you give gas a quick push and reve, there is a little hesisation and pop, but not that noticeable.

Answer
Why replace the fuel pump if you haven't measured the fuel pressure and return volume yet?   You desperately NEED a factory(SUZUKI) service manual so you can follow logical diagnosis paths.  Why not find out what that relay does, and determine why it clatters?  That sounds like a big giant red flag waved in front of the bull....  what you're doing will cost you unnecessary time and money in the long run.  Get a real manual, learn the correct diagnosis tracks, and solve the problem.
