Suzuki Repair: Vitara service engine light, flywheel teeth, crankshaft pulley

Question
David,
My service engine light came on in my 2001 2.0L 4WD Vitara. The folks at Autozone checked it and told me it was a crankshaft position circuit malfunction. Where is the sensor located and how is it replaced? Thanks!

Answer
I'm the wrong guy to ask, I left the automotive field for the fleet maintenance (bus fleets) a year before the vitara came out.  You could probably get a service manual or CD if you search the net.  My GUESS is that it's on the front of the motor near the crankshaft pulley.  Some manufacturers have been known to use a pin (or pins plural)inserted in the flywheel, or the flywheel teeth to trigger the sensor, and some GM products (and some VW/AUDI) have been known to but the sensor in the side of the crankcase near the middle.  Sorry to be guessing, but I've never worked on one.
