Towing Issues: NJ Tow, compliance departments, state compliance

Question
Richard

Thanks for the info including NJ Reg in progress (I'll check if inacted). The regulations I reviewed was for the City and I'll need to review the details for the State which might further limit the allowed charges.

Who would you suggest I include in the suit if I determine I might have a case?  ie-the store owner, the center management?  Also should this involve the actual towing company.  I'm assuming I can go through the city or state compliance departments to report them as non compliant.

Answer
Well the people involved would be the ones who authorized the tow. Be it a security guard or office person... Yes the "management firm" would and could be named in the suit not just the individual as they were most likely acting in the scope of their job and as such would be included but not involved really... One of those legal type deals..

But best answers on who and what regulations are involved is to do a complete search on this issue and find each law for the city, county and then the state laws... Find all the information and you will get a better idea of who is breaking the law (s) if any.
