Towing Issues: expired inspection towed, inspection stickers, apartment management

i legally parked my car in front of my apartment and the next morning it was gone. I called the complex and they told that it was towed because my inspection expired.
is there a law which gives the towing company the right to tow me for expired inspection?

Well as "FAR AS I KNOW" there are no specific laws regarding towing from private property for expired inspection stickers....


BUT that being said, each apartment - Condo is able to create parking rules which apply to their property. Yes they have to have signs up in most cases which state who to call and such. There are more specific wordings for signs, but they all depend on the City and State you are in (that key information is missing from this question)


It most likely is a "policy" of the apartment complex which says that all vehicles are to be "licensed, inspected if required" and in operational conditions...   

The apartment management are the ones which authorize the tows and sign the authorizations.
