Towing Issues: illegal tow or not?, dmv ca, gov pubs

Question
i was visiting my girlfriend at her appartment complex and yesterday they put a note on teh door saying that your cars need to be moved by 7:30 in the morning or they will be towed.  So I looked at the city codes and it says under 2151.10 Parking on public or private property.
(g) By parking on properly posted private property without the consent of the owner of the property, the owner and operator of a vehicle shall be deemed to have consented to the removal and storage and the payment of the costs of removing and storage in an amount not to exceed the rates established by the Director of Public Safety under the provisions of division (h) of this section. No vehicle parked on the property at the time of the posting of the sign shall be towed until a period of seventy-two (72) hours has passed.

Answer
There are so many laws in California relating to towing from Private Property that it gets confusing at times.. And I am not able to find "THAT SPECIFIC VEHICLE CODE"

But that part of the law (from my understanding and talks with California towers) is dealing with "UNPOSTED PARKING LOTS" which sign contracts with tow companies to start the process of being a legal parking lot to have vehicles removed...

In basic terms if the local 7-11 does not have any tow signs in the lot, and they have a vehicle in the lot which is abandoned or parks there on a daily basis, then it would have to have the signs up for 72 hours before the tow becomes legal...

But then under the same laws there are other laws which apply... Parking in fire lanes, parking in "MARKED SPACES" (ie  reserved or assigned spaces via signs or painted stall numbers)

Now I also have to say that the following VC is used a lot to  cover the rules and regulations for tow companies doing private property towing...

I hope this helps a bit....  But like I say California laws are complex.
