Towing Issues: Got car didnt pay fees, tow company, atm card

I went to the tow lot today in austin.  I got towed from the visitor section at my brothers appt.  They were very negative and told me I had to pay with cash (its sunday have to be back tomorrow) Couldnt get cash out of the bank.  Went back to the tow lot and my vehicle was sitting right by the open gate.  Hopped in and drove off.  What kind of trouble will I get in for this?  Should I call the tow company to take care of fees or what???

Well, lets see, you got towed and you did not have the money to pay for the tow, so you basically "STOLE THE VEHICLE" from the tow company who has a signed authorization to remove it.  Has reported that it was towed to the police department, and then you "trespassed on the tow company property" and committed the crime of stealing the vehicle which can be also classified as "THEFT OF SERVICES"


OK that's wonderful,  I would be talking to the tow company as fast as possible and trying to resolve this issue before any "LEGAL OR CRIMINAL CHARGES" are filed...


And since the bank is closed on the weekends, then I guess you do not have an "ATM CARD" to get money from a machine, or friends and or family members who can loan you the money till the bank was open...

Oh well, live and learn is what is going to happen here.


PS,  if the tow company came to your house and took the car back, what would you do, after all you do not have a receipt proving it was paid for and that you were able to have it... They would have the upper hand, as when it was back in the lot they could say it was never released....   What proof would you have that it was paid for. They would have the outstanding tow bill...
