Towing Issues: Police Issued Tow but for no reason?, honest mistake, boston police

Question
My car was towed the other day for no reason. There was a snow emergency alert but my car was not parked in a snow emergency zone but was towed anyway. Towing company said it was authorized to tow by the Boston Police. Boston Police say they don't know why the car was towed. I did not receive a ticket. But I would like to be refunded the $125 and want to find out if this could happened again. Please help!

Answer
While I know only a little bit about snow emergency towing (we do not have that problem in Alabama), I do know that at times mistakes get made when doing the towing...
If the police (who order the tows) did not issue a ticket then it might of been an honest mistake by the tow company.

To get refunds you might have to go to court or the city tow review board (if they have one)...

Sorry but that kind of issue is one I am not totally familiar with, so my answer will be a bit vague.. I tried to look up this subject and found lots of news stories and stuff but not for actual rules and regulations.
