Towing Issues: impound car, vehicle license plates, washington massachusetts

my car was impounded the cost is 5000$ to get it out do I do not have the money can I just leave the car it is worth 500 $

ah, well again people do not read the information which is requested in order to answer questions...

I will provide a "GENERAL" answer then with no specific information.

In several states, California, Washington, Massachusetts, Florida and others, if you abandon a vehicle at a tow yard, depending on the reason for the tow, your drivers license and or the vehicle license plates (which in some states follow the owner) will be suspended for non payment.


PLUS then the tow company is a private business not tax payer supported and as such they like to get paid for the towing and storage fees which are due them after towing the vehicle..

THAT MEANS, that the tow company, can and usually does utilize collection agencies to collect outstanding debts..
