Towing Issues: WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOUR CAR HAS BEEN IMPOUNDED for THIRTY DAYS?, vehicle appraisals, gov pubs

Question
So, I had some unpaid parking tickets and my car got towed. Naturally it was
at the worst time ever, and no matter how hard I tried I just couldn't scrape
up the money to get the car out. On the 15th of feb it will be a full thirty
days and I'm wondering what will happen to my car. Is there a law that states
the towing company must notify me by mail, alerting me to the fact that they
are about to sell the car? I'm also wondering if there is a law on how far they
can tow your car from the original destination...I heard it was ten miles....not
sure if that's true.

Just wondering!!!!!

Answer
well I am guessing that you are in "California" and as such yes there are about a billion laws which affect towing.

But in a nut shell, in certain cases (value of vehicle appraisals) the vehicle can be sold via "LIEN" quicker than 30 days..

check out the DMV web pages below and you can search the information there and answer with the information you know but did not tell me..
