Towing Issues: Handicap towed / fallen sign, tow company, hadicap

Clackamas, Oregon. hadicap sign 'seems' to have fallen from windown onto the consold of car. private tow company said 'its wasn't in the window so we towed' $180.00 later... here we sit.
some folks at a bus stop, who watched it be towed, said the ttruck driver looked in the front windown,, flashed his light on the dash and started hooking it up......
what can be done?

Well, if the mirror tag is not hanging or laying face up on the dash (if it fell) then it might be a battle, but I know what courts sometimes rule in strange ways over things...

Have you talked to the tow company owner who towed the vehicle... Sometimes they might work with you and when the proof is shown that it was there it just "broke or fell" then it might solve the issue and get either a partial refund or full refund..

But when you have to dig it out from between seats or out of the glove box then it becomes a mute point...

To give a vehicle a quick check for a permit is always a good idea for a tow company, but remember that it does matter when it falls and how hard the tow company looks... They have rules to follow just like you do about hanging it where it is supposed to be.   But each of them also have a bit of a gray area..

Best answer is to talk to the tow company owner and see what can be worked out. Even though you paid the fees they might do something.
Never can tell what will happen.
