Towing Issues: being towed from my own driveway, arrest warrant, unpaid fines

Question
is it legal for the marshall inthe state of new york to tow your car out your driveway if you have tickets

Answer
While I am not in New York, I would believe the same laws apply as in Repos to the Marshals seizing vehicles for unpaid fines...

Generally if the vehicle is inside the garage and the door is shut it can not be taken.  If it is behind a closed and shut gate then it can not be taken. But if nothing has to be opened then it is fair game...

BUT the police usually have a warrant (In Oregon they were called "TAG WARRANTS") and as such they have an "arrest warrant" for the vehicle and do take it into custody.

Hope that helps a bit, I did a quick search and did not find anything else online that would help answer this question so it was just based on common knowledge of towing issues.
