Towing Issues: towing f350 behind rv 4 wheels down, shift on the fly, electric shift

Question
I have a 05 f350 with electric shift on the fly 4wd. Now ford, w/same model has a manual shift 4wd, which has neutral in it. With the manual shift, you can tow 4down. My question is, same transmission, why couldn't you put a control of some sort to electrically shift it into neutral. Anyone out there heard of this.

Answer
While this is not my area of expertise ,
I have the same year truck with the electric shift but on a F 250... I have no answer for this either.
I am thinking that the electric shift has some problems with the fact it has no true neutral verses a physical shifter.
Check with some of the bigger RV dealers and maybe Camping World or such,  heck check with your local Ford Dealer and see what they say.
