Towing Issues: Towed from my driveway (oregon), tow truck company, tow companies

Question
I am a renter in Oregon and live in a duplex townhome.  My next door neighbor recently moved out and she only had one car.  I have two and the driveway holds 3 cars therefore she had no problem letting me park my two in the driveway.  Yesterday I arrived at my home after work and noticed my 2nd vehicle was missing.  I talked to my neighbors and they saw a tow truck come pick it up around 9 am.  Due to the management company being closed, I called the police to see if they had the name of the tow company (someone suggested I do this), which they did.  I called the Tow company and they told me that they couldn't tell me who had it towed but suggested that it was due to being parked on "Private Property" and that usually landlords do this.  My question is:  Is this legal?  No notice, no phone call, no nothing and the car is in my driveway?  Thank you!

Answer
Ok this sounds strange, as a few things are not making sense to me..
First of all, shared driveways are always problems, as how do you really divide it fairly...  Most driveways will hold one vehicle on each side.  Now as to "gentleman agreements" as to sharing and such for extra or special vehicles  that is something that is usually not covered in rental agreements...

Now as to the tow truck company being closed that is not really true... Tow companies are "PHYSICALLY" open during business hours  8 - 5 Monday to Friday.  But they are OPEN really 24 - 7 for calls....

True you might have to pay an afterhours release fee or gate fee to get your vehicle after hours, they are still able to be released.

On to the releasing of information of who "authorized" the removal of the vehicle, I am sure if they are pressed then you would get the information.
They are correct that the duplex is "private property" and as such, the property owner or designated manager or agent would be able to authorize the removal. I am sure you have the name of your manager/owner who handles the property.

Ok now as the notice, well it really is hard to notify people by phone as cars do not have "call me at" numbers on them.  Sure apartment and condo complexes have lists, but sometimes they are not up to date, or they are not able to be found..  Notes, sure they might of left something on it, but remember (yeah I am native Oregonian) rain does ruin notes and such.

Now something just seems wrong here, as the "management company" of the complex should of known how to find you, but is all your information correct...
And of course is this vehicle, drivable, licensed, insured, and such.. That could of been another reason it was ordered towed.

Legal, well there are lots of rules which cover impounding vehicles from private property and I know Oregon just revised some of them (not sure if they are in effect right now)
