Towing Issues: Flat towing 1999 Wrangler Automatic, 4wd vehicles, jeep dealer

Some people say transfer case in neutral and then put trans. in park, or trans. in drive, or trans. in neutral ?? uh. I would think transmission in neutral for no possible chance of damage. Which way should it be ???

I will first say that I am not an expert at flat towing 4WD vehicles.  

It is my understanding that if you have a transfer case with neutral, that it disconnects the driveline.  You should be able to tow but as to what to do with the transmission, I will have to ask you to contact a Jeep dealer, or a well respected motorhome dealer.  Either should be able to answer your quesion.  I could find no specific info on the internet about it in a quick search.
