Toyota Repair: 86 Corolla lacks power, toyota corolla, distributor cap

Question
I am having problems with my 1986 Toyota Corolla.
One of the problems seems to be that the engine isn't getting enough fuel to it. I have changed the fuel filter as I thought that may help, but it hasn't seemed to change anything. Also the car is lacking power, I have to flat stick the gas pedal in order to get the car to move. I think that there are some problems with the leads.
How would you asses?

Answer
could be a lot of different things but it sounds like there is a bad misfire so I would start by doing a tune up including spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor and check the coil inside the distributor for any cracks or burned areas and replace the coil if necessary.
