Toyota Repair: 2000 Toyota Celica GT - Burning Oil, excessive oil consumption, toyota celica gt

Question
I have a 2000 Toyota Celica GT that has just recently started burning oil.  I have always followed the maintenance schedule as shown.  I took it and had a compression check done, and the technician told me that it had "weak valves."  I'm wondering what to do?

I've looked online, and it would appear to me that quite a number of owners of 2000 Toyota Celicas have had this same problem.

Answer
First of all "weak valves" or even leaking valves do not cause excessive oil consumption.
Oil burning is normally caused by worn piston rings or leaking valve seals, if the engine has a lot of miles on it this may be the case and would require an engine overhaul or the replacement of the engine short block.
How much oil does it use in 500 miles?
How many miles on the engine?
Does it smoke from the tailpipe(blue smoke)?
Does it smoke on acceleration or only in the morning on cold start?
I may be able to help more with more information.
