Toyota Repair: 97 Toyota Celcia ST, toyota celcia, radiator stop leak

Question
Do I repair the replace the radiator or can it be fixed?  Is it a plastic one which some say can't be repaired?  What to do to keep the cost down?  Do I add the Radiator stop-leak stuff?

98,000 miles.....97 Toyota Celica ST 1.8 liter engine, auto trans.....

I was driving and my car ran hot all of a sudden...Steam shooting from the front headlight area...I stopped. Open the hood and the Radiator was leaking from the top area....It had pin like hole squirting out in three or more areas from the very upper area of the Radiator.....I kept adding water in the radiator to keep it cool and kept watching the temp guage....It ran to the Red zone once so I stopped and waited for it to cool down....Filled up the radiatorwith water and little coolant but mostly water and made it home with the temp guage at the usual setting...

Thank you for all the information but I need you to post a question, how can I help?

Answer
If there is a leak in the plastic part of the radiator it needs to be replaced, adding stop leak is a temporary fix and will clog up the radiator core after a while, most of the replacement radiators use a steel or brass construction which is better than the plastic. You should be able to get an aftermarket radiator from a radiator shop for about $150 plus cost of installing unless you do it yourself.
