Toyota Repair: Cabin Air Filter, avalon xls, phillips screw

Question
Thanks for the quick response. I don't see a phillips screw. On the right inside of the glove box there is a plastic piece that appears to ride in a curved slot in the side of the box. It looks like the end of the plastic piece should be turned, but I'm reluctant to try without knowing for sure. Also, on the right outside of the glove box is a protrusion that acts as a stop by contacting a notch in the glove box opening.
Any suggestions. This is an Avalon XLS produced July 02.
Thanks

Question -
How do I access the cabin air filter on a 2002 Avalon?
Thanks

Answer -
It's located behind the glove box, open the glove box and remove the phillips screw on what looks like a small shock absorber on the right, the glove box will drop down, the filter is inside the rectangular housing, depress the retaining clips to pull it out.

Answer
Some models had a screw attaching the damper for the glove box and some did not, it sounds like in this case the damper can just be pulled of, do not turn the protrusion you will break it, just pull the damper unit off and the glove box will drop down.
