QUESTION: My steering on the tractor is turning free, if I turn it to the left it will (the shaft that is) start to unscrew.. I've tried to take steering wheel off but cant budge it, any help on any of this?  I know I'm going to have to take the gear box off is there away to do that without take wheel off? Thanks Rich

  I don't think there is any way to do it without removing the steering wheel.  If it won't come off with a steering wheel puller, sometimes you have to destroy the steering wheel to get it off.

Yes it can be rebuilt, but I have no info on availability of parts or the cost.  You might consider getting a different one from a salvage yard.  Adding power steering could certainly be done, but it would probably be very expensive.  I don't know of anyone personally that has done it.
